Aran Wines

ARAN WINES

We began in 2005 at the forefront of viticulture in the Armenian wine region of Artsakh, when we planted our 15 acre vineyard in the exceptionally fertile Askeran plains.

Using the indigenous Armenian grape variety Sireni, in 2018 we embarked on creating our exciting new wines.

After the 2020 Artsakh War, we lost our estate vineyards to Azerbaijani aggression, and after the 2021 vintage we had to focus on producing our wines from Armenian-sourced vineyards.

With the upcoming 2024 vintage, we will be producing Sireni wines again using grapes from our partner vineyard in the Kotayk region of Armenia.

About Us

In 2005, Alex & Talar Sarafian planted 6 hectares (15 acres) of new vines in the Askeran region of Artsakh, one of the more promising but less developed wine regions on the frontiers of Armenia.

Carefully cultivating the Khndoghni grape, also known as Sireni, over the ensuing years, in 2018 they decided to start producing Aran Wines for the international and Armenian markets.
